Just a question that has sparked a little debate over on audi sport. If you install nitrous and declare it to your insurance, are you allowed to use it on public roads day in day out etc? Quite a few people believe it is illegal to use on the roads but im pretty sure you can use it. any help appreciated

I think it's illegal to use on public roads. It's perfectly legal to have installed, just you cant use it unless on a private road.

That's what i've always thought

damn this, its going the same way as audi sport, half saying legal, half saying illegal

im pretty sure its legal, providing you have a sticker saying that you have gas on board etc, but need conformation!

(im not getting any btw, just wated to resolve this issue for the guys on audi sport)

it's legal to have it installed but it has to be turned off or be empty on uk roads, it's illegal to actually use it on public roads.

Q6) Is the use of nitrous oxide "road legal" ?

A6) There is no law that prohibits the use of N20 injection on road vehicles. My own cars are used on the road, and the local police are aware of my use of nitrous systems, and they confirm that they know of no law that I could be breaking. However you may need to inform your insurance company, depending on the type and wording of the policy. The same applies to ALL types of tuning, these should also be reported to your insurers.

you have to have a sticker saying you have compressed gas, as do we when we carry diving cylinders in ym dads truck.

As long as you use to help from 0-70 im sure you will be ok!!
