Hi,

I want to put a set of 12" neons in the front footwells of my corsa. I would like to be able to run it from a switch so i can have them on when the door are closed, and for them to automatically turn on *if they are off* when the doors are opened. Is it possible to do both?

Ive read the thread about doing an install on them, but im interested in in having them so they can be turned on when the doors are closed.

Any advise appreciated

Yes, to do this you would need an On/Off/On switch from maplin. Wire the ground for your transformer for the neons to the center pin, the ground from the door pinswitch to one of the remaining pins, then a ground from a clean metal point on the chassis to the last remaining pin.

This switch has 3 different positions. In the middle is off so that they dont come on at all, it can go down to switch the open door feature on, or it can go all the way up to override the door feature and turn them on with the doors closed

No problem

Just incase you were wondering where to get the switches from, heres the link:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=040928162250126&moduleno=2360&Products=6

If you want to have the option to permanently turn the neons off so that they dont come on with the doors open, get the 10A Toggle SPDT B switch.

If you just want to switch between door activation and them being permanently on, get the 10A Toggle SPDT A switch.

They can try but there is nothing on paper that says its illegal. Washer jets/exterior neons ect are the usuals.
