is this true- my mate said its due to the wweight of the sport being lighter :S

i was puzzled
but is this true?

other way round, gsi is 109bhp, sport is 106bhp, not much in it really tbh

whichever car is in better running condition will be faster. There is no difference in real life power on the road

if ur gonna get picky in 0-60, gsi = 9.0, sport = 9.1

but as said engine condition/driver will determine who would win

and no the sport isent lighter, ask your mate who told him this lol

they are both identical in weight as long as the same things are fitted like AC EW etc etc, GSi with a X16XE engine will be identical to a Sport 1.6, an early GSi with the C16XE will be marginally quicker due to increased torque at lower revs and higher power at top end. Marginal though, my sport could do 0-60 in 8.7 seconds all day long...
