ordered friday of the week before last, was expecting them by wednesday of last week as i'd been told they were in stock.
friday came and went, thought it was a bit rare that they had taken a week and still no sign.

read on tuesday of this week that they were changing premises, so thought that would explain it.
called up wednesday on the mobile number stoney posetd. no answer, but called me straight back and explained it all.

courier had not come the day he was meant to, then they had to shuffle about with the move. and the new address wasn't quite ready in time for them, so they were out of action for a couple of days.

i was starting to get pissed off at the start of this week, but whoever i spoke to explained everything with the right attitude, and the bits came this morning, so i'm not put off by using them again, although a courtesy call would have gone down well.

anyway, here's my new bits.:

shiney new hubs for the 2ltr conversion, after fuckin up an attempt to machine the calibra ones down to go in corsa bearings,

and a not quite so shiney power steering pump bracket, so i don't lose the pas.

went out at lunch and got a new bearing; then dropped the bearings, hubs, and carriers at a mates garage tonight to be pressed together.

hopefully this signals the end of the conversion, and with any luck, i'll be motoring again by tomorrow night

using calibra shafts at the moment.
i thik the n's one is slightly too long and will either wear out the differential super quick, or chew through bearings a bit rapidly.

will do me for the moment though to get me back on he road. i've been without a car now for over 3weeks.

hubs were £80 each , but i was pissed that the other ones i had machined didn't fit, and justed wanted it right straight away.
the one that was fitted and knocked out again after it was found to be wrong got ruined, so i would have had to buy new standard ones again anyway, then go through the whole machining process over again in the hope they ended up right.

trying to do it on the cheap cost me £30 in turning costs, and £40 for the bearing that got mashed, so that was a worthwhile experiment.

kortas, in hindsight, i would have got the early cav 1600 cv's, but you don't tend to find many mk2's floating about in scrappies. even so, the n/s shaft is still slightly too long.
mounts i got from Lee Mitchell. o/s mount, rear mount spacers and long bolt, ARB spacers plus the body mount.

mist, were a shocking £80each. thought you and thunda were getting a machined set each from that guy from mig?

just fitted the manifold back on.
thats a bitch of a job i can tell you. rad and power steering pipes all to contend with. plus it was getting caught on the engine mount and crank breather pipe.
oh well, it's done now.

matey brought the assembled hub and carriers back round tonight, so i've just gotta get them back on, suspension back on, then the rad fan somehow, and i should be good to go.

hopefully finish it tomorrow night, but saturday afternnoon if not.
