Why are the 1.5 turbo diesel corsas alot slower that the 1.4 corsa.

It's also a diesel, slower power delivery and less power/speed than a petrol with the same displacement.

check parkers.co.uk you will find tech datat on there. They are slower cos they prob only rev up to about 4500rpm, where a petrol will get up to 6500rpm a lot quicker and with a displacement difference that small it isn't going to go anyfaster despite it being a 1.5, my corsa 1.4 16v has same performance on speed/accel as a 2.0 HDi pug 406. Also the 1.7 are a lot slower cos it has "no turbo disease" which tend to make diesel engines rather poor.

plus 1.5 TD should be quicker than the 1.4 8v, cos they have less hp, less accel, less top end cos they are poop.
