Drove past it and it caught my eye.

Pugeot 106 GTI
2000 V reg
Sundance Yellow (bright yellow)
52k
FSH
Leather and Alcatara intetrior
Standrad aprt from 6x9s

£4995 at a traders

Whats everyone think of these cars? Does the price seem good to you?

I drive a 1.4 16V sport at the moment, do you think I'd get bored of a 106 GTI quickly?

Cheers

Good cars apart from build quality, I am going to purchase one as a main car next year.

Nova then can be not used and can become a show car.

dood overall they are fairly rapid, in the hands of an expert driver they can show up a few sports cars on 2 down a B Road. Cant be arsed to dig out EVO for exact figures but the 0-100 is fairly respectable considering its power output.

Alex if you get one dont ruin it with big alloys and botched lowering methods. Best to keep it standard unless u want to throw some proper money at the chassis.

Way quicker than a Corsa gsi, handling is great. Good fun, you won't get bored quickly. Build quality isn't the best but it's a proper GTi and hot hatch. 0-100 is around 21 secs IIRC

SetH, I wouldn't ruin it at all. Probably a few engine mods and exhaust then leave it.
The dashboard isn't the nicest and looks a little dated, but I'll be too busy looking at the road

They also look very nice with GTI-6 alloys fitted.

They do look good but very flimsy build quality, most of the peeps who have bought them on here have sold them within 6 months so they cant be that good

kept mine for about 15 months, one of best cars I've ever had. Didn't buy a GTi for the build quality neither an Evo.

They are fantastic little cars, great performance/handling. mine was very economical to for the performance.
make sure you check for all the usual probs, alot of them suffer from an erractic tick over, kinda up and down but as soon as you rev it it goes, mine did this never did get to the bottom of it! be warned.
All the same great little cars, and that sounds like a good price, as previously mentioned only subtle engine mods really needed, ram air induction kit, decat exhaust maybe dastek uni chip and that about it imo.
Go for it, you wont regret it, just make sure its been looked after with fsh and is in good condition and you wont look back!!

If you want to be really picky I'd say 90% of Scoobys are slow too The GTi is very nippy considering it has 120bhp, feels a like a lot more. Will see off most things too with a few engine mods

What are they standard? That's a fair bit to gain from just de-cat and induction
