Been lookin around garages in Bristol today at cars, the last garage that we went in had a Golf GTI that looked nice and was at a good price. Had a good look around it and all seemed good, was a 1999 on an S reg 1.8 GTI with 77K and FVWSH. Priced at £4995 down from £5495. Asked the salesman what he would go down to, i said about £4,700 cash and he said there is no way he could go that low, wasn't sure so said i would go home have a look at some stats for them and have a think about it.

Got home, fired up Auto Trader, looked at Golf GTi's and this came up

1999 S Reg VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 1.8 GTi 20V 5dr

1.8 20v 125bhp

Pretty rare, they brought this engine out to replace the old 2.0 8v unit. It didnt meet emissions though so they added the turbo.

I haven't had time to view everyones replies, but in the pic it looks like there is quite a bad colour match between the rear door and the quarter pane, is it just the pic? if its not have a look out for that when you look at it in the flesh
