As some of you know my XE went bang big time after i made a major boo boo

thanks to lee mitchell and our mate shinee it has been fully rebuilt over the last week

spec goes as follows

new block
arp rod bolts
new shells
new oil pump and gasket
new sump gasket
re bore and oversized pistons
LET lifters and std new cams
new belt, pump rollers etc
head skimmed
headgasket
all seals and gaskets replaced
blocks ally brushed, degreased and painted

A big thank you for martin who spent 3 days just cleaning the block and replacing it out the goodness of his heart as mine had a crack in it

just a new base to start from now

some crap pics as it was late last night





cant wait to get it back now...just go to run her in gently

Looks spankin mate, so basically a new engine then??? But I gotta ask why didnt you just put a LET in???

Welli rebuilt this cos this is my run around mate

IF i got a LET it'd be running big power and wouldnt be an every day car really...watch this space

major boo boo was not cleaning the grit out of my shot blasted rocker leading to oil pump siezing etc etc u can see the pic now...so for the sake of £50 is cost me £900

that part exchange and all u get is the block and head non of the rest of the stuff ya's need....

nah martin did this as u really have to strip it down to do it..hours of scrubbing and degreasing too tho

new egine from vaux are just reconed blocks with no ancilleries or sensores and you dont get oversized pistons and rod bolts or someone who knows more than a vaux monkey tech rebuilding it Martin is an XE/LEt guru

i am informed that he has broken 600 GTE's (min) and at least 300 callys/cav turbos this is the reason ppl go up norht to find these cars

well corsa is not going anywhere and car has been good to me ove the last two years as i was doing mega miles. XE's are economical and bullet proof and mine took a hoofing every day and only broke due to my ignorance Worthwhile inestment i think
