ok i got a xe corsa i have taken the head off and the cams out but when i put the cams back in the pistons r pushed down how can i stop this hapening and what is the best way to do the timing thanxs

the pistons are pushed down? do u mean the valves?


best way of doing the timing and i'm being smart is to get a haynes..... everything u need is in it..... infact u cant really to engine timing without one.

yer i do means the valves does this matter and do the cams have to do back the way they sitted before i took them out lol i got a haynes just cant be fucked to look at it lol

yeah the cams will have to be the same way they were before they came out....

then there is a timing mark on the cam pulley.... this will line up with a mark on the cambelt cover indicating that the Head is set at TDC for no piston 1

u'd wanna get yer haynes out cos yer not gonna be able to do the job without it..... and if you get it wrong..... bye bye engine
