Well I'm happy to be prooven wrong on that!

Just when I turn my boost down, the car feels like it won't beat a stationary car!

Value for money, Corsa by a country mile! For 7k I can outrun 50k cars! But a car is about more than just speed. I love the fact the car looks nothing and goes like a rocket, but some people like the agressive looks of a car, so that may be an additional factor in the scoobs favour!

as for value for money, scooby, you can buy them for less than 6 grand, spend another grand on the engine and your laughing

Well, what does a standard STi do a 1/4 in? Not saying mine would beat it, but I ran a 14.4 on 4psi of boost. Its now running 9psi, so imagine it should do high 13's.

Many scoobies have had to witness my onslaughts on their asses, big heavy weighty cars, built to take the battering of a heavy boxster engine

aerodynamics plates a big roll with my car and the vent comes into play when i do high speeds, the car will sit about an inch or 2 lower on the front when im doing 100mph, all the air that is hitting the bulk head escapes through the vent, therefore a lot of pressure is sat on the bonnet and front screen.

OK, I found these. So I should be able to keep up with a few standard scoobys.

BHP 0-30 0-60 0-100 1/4Time 1/4 Speed
Subaru Impreza 22B 276 1.7 5 13 13.7 102
Subaru Impreza P1 277 1.6 4.7 12.3 13.9 105
Subaru Impreza Turbo 208 1.8 5.5 15.8 14.2 87
Subaru Impreza Turbo WRX215 2 5.7 16.9 14.5 95
Subaru Impreza WR Prodrive240 2 5.6 13.9 14.4 96

i nearly bought a P1 last year, only thing that put me off was expensive parts if it busted. Plus scoobies are more common than novas round my way and some people call scooby drivers chavs

Ok due to low scooby prices now some can be associated with chavs how ever P1's are still 15K+ and the daddy of scoobs so this car is rare.

Yep. I had a nice little criminal injuries claim which meant either P1 or save up for furniture for my house, I think i did the sensible thing there.

A Standard 2lt 16v Turbo would NOT beat a Scooby, i have drive loads, and a turbo corsa are not that fast as people think, you also have the down fall of traction.
i modded 2lt 16v turbo will beat a scooby yes, i have taken a few, last one was in a Corsa 2.1 on throttlebodys.

i would say theres not much in it, but on the take off the scoody will get say a 10foot lead and you will not catch him up.

as i say 2lt 16v turbo corsas are not that fast

Why do people always use 1/4 mile as a benchmark for cars? Why not 30-100?

Regarding beating a scoob and it being the driver. We were in a straight line, its not that hard! Dont really think an expert driver would of gained anything over a compentent road user.

I'm with Beardy on the standard LET thingy, mine really feels shite on standard, I'd cry if it was like that all the time! Don;t even think I;d beat a 172.

also have too remember that the LET is not going to be 205bhp as all engines loose horsepower as they get older.

my uk turbo scoob was pushing around 208bhp when I got it after re-map and exhaust it was more like 260bhp and it was quick but like ppl say after about 80mph they do lose the speed alot. but for mods there is a lad near me Dave Wallace who as a uk scoob and its pushing poss over 500bhp and Steve Darley another uk scoob seen him going for it at Elvington and beats most things. as for weight they are not that heavy about 1300kg unsure what a std corsa weighs but most be close to that with the LET in...?

Darren

And there is no way you will beat a well set up scooby on corners unless a)it as rubish tyres b)the driver is shit
