picked up my new alloys today so started to fit them. passenged side went on fine. so started drivers side, undoing locking wheel nut on rear, and al the little teeth jus shattered
so tryed ramming a 17 socket on there, to try and get it off, no joy. so went down to halfords to get locking wheel nut remover, thing was too fat to fit ni the hole to GET to the nut!!
so rang AA and they came 2 have a look, but he said he couldn do anything, id have 2 take it 2 a garage. so gona take it to my local quik fit 2mo (hopefully mate is workin) and can get it sorted!! heres a pic, il show my alloys when i get al 4 on

what happened with the 17mm?
did it slip off or round the bolt?
get a 16on there if you think it will help.
don't just tap it on either; you need to give it full bore with a lump hammer.
17 will prob work if you knock it on further.

As myke said, 16 then 15 then 14 untill you have worn away enough metal for the weel to slip over the nut
Only playin
16mm socket and twat it on with the fattest hammer you can find, try not to use a socket you are gonna use any time soon as you will probably fook it.

17 jus slipped off, felt tight, but weren tight enough!.
its not a bolt shape on the vaux locking nuts, its a circle.

I got the answer, save ya self some money do it ya self, i have had to do this 4 times so it works takes about 15minutes.
Instead of whacking a socket around it do this, drill the centre of the bolt where ya 3 holes for the pins are, keep drilling loads of holes round the bolt head till the hole in the middle is big enough to whack an extension socket into, it has to be a tight fit so when ya hammer it in the extension bar with square end gets wedged and then undo

or just drill a hole into then fit a screw extractor into it.
