I'd probably think that some kind of spaceframe would sort out the handling problems, and most of the other problems you would encounter when building a 4WD car out of a FWD shell...

I talked to the guys that own that standard wheeltrimmed light purple corsa that does 13.1's, and they seemed to think they could knock a Corsa into 4x4 easy. Just one of the guys has to use that corsa every day, and didnt wantt o loose the use of the heaters (which they thought they would loose)

alot of people say to weld in the caly floor so that u can bolt the transfer box on and all the sh*t needed.

by doing this though are u not opening the corsa up to all the problems the cally had with its TXB.

This was running one engine hence longer props etc.... Done the correct why.
2 engines is cheating - lol i have seen the Mk3 Astra you are talking about.

The guy at AMD cut the floor of a knackered Cav Turbo and put it onto a Mk3 Astra Van lengthed the Wheel base etc - used the whole VXL TXB system - with the turo engine as well and used it to tow his RS2 Rally car - mad git!

problems await those who bodge the job up quickly, you can't expect to just throw it all together, it takes planning and organising certain jobs/tasks in the correct order

But then you have a 4WD car that can only go in a straight line. I thought the whole point in 4WD was to increase performance of the vehicles handling. Not loose it?

Yep I saw the flash of the hazards

Very nice pop and bang LOL. Was it a big misfire? Sounded good LOL

Gear linkages for 2 engines are not hard to fabricate. Another area Will seems to excell in.

Venom you should see the pipework for the Astra! Work of art! I'll get some pics on my phone if I can next time I'm down.

Dunno if I'll get down tonight, still waiting for Andy to pick me up!

Would of been good to compare the cars on the motorway or something?

Best bet is to pop down to see Will, getting them to answer the phone is a feat in itself!

aye, i remember reading an article about this and from memory it was a figure of around 20k (not 100% sure on this btw)....which isnt cheap

VT - aye, i have a basic understanding of how it would go together (from reasearch etc), but its not as easy as you seem to be saying. Its not a weekend job, like popping a 2lt into a corsa, it would take a good month or more solid working on it to get it finished. And add the cost for the whole project, its pretty much a pointless to do to a corsa, hence why no one has done it (although i remember posting a thread ages ago and someone said there friend was building one, but ive yet to hear anything on that though).

However, wasnt courtenay going to build a kit that you could get?
