What sensor is this circled in the below photograph? I'm thinking its the crankshaft position sensor, but I dont want tobuy the wrong part.... The engines a 20XE...

looks like a crankshaft sensor is tat the front o the block facing the rad? if so thats what it is. quite pricey from vaux

Yea, thats the one... They are £30 from Autovaux apparently. I'm going to try and get a second had one though - the wire on mine got broken off right in the plastic cap, tried repairing it, its impossible

Yes thats the crankshaft sensor.
Vaux seem to charge £100 or so for the sensors.

just a common thing to go on the XE's due to it gettin stuupidly hot

Are are they about £30 then? Don't want to be spending much more on the engine, i'm sooo close to getting it in now  (Anyone breaking a 20XE equipped car?)
