Realistically when is a good time to start getting quotes for renewal? Im going on holiday 2 weeks before its due (OCT11).... anypoint looking now.... today's probably the only full day I will have to do it before I go away

I think generally quotes are valid for 1 month from most companies

elephant are winning at the moment, but ive heard so much bad press about them I'm reluctant to go with them... plus they do monthly payments now...

Ive just re-newed with Elephant after being with Norwich Union for a year

Gotta say they were cheaper than most by a looooong way.

Whats the bad press all about Mr Sooty?

Well my mate wrote off his evo 6 with them... they didnt pay out because accident was his fault

that crap 10 months accelerator thing which will not retain the discount to other companies... people just generally getting hassle when coming to claiming... ive not had experience with them... but I can't see me going with them

Was your mate fully comp on the Evo6 then?
How the hell can they say that? Isnt the whole point of insurance so that you can claim if theres an accident?!!

hopefully I wont be needing to deal with them again untill I need an even cheaper quote

Most companies honour quotes for 30 days, so any time within those 30 days would be a good idea I think.
