As some of you might know i am running the company Horizon Autotek, well at present the company is going through big changes, i will be expanding in a big way.

Things you will see in the near future are expanded product range, payment through debit and credit cards, online shop as well as many other smaller touches.

The reason i am posting this on here is to let you all know about the changes due, and i am also asking that any suggestions as to products i should sell, or business ideas please feel free to share them.

Sorry about the short essay i just thought it would be good to let you guys know about the plans.

Make sure your customer service is totally, 100% spot on and you can't fail.

99% of the companies in the industry already offer shite customer service, hence the short life expectancy.

They all start well then lose the customer service as they get bigger IMO eg. PVD + Illusion.

Good luck tho Todd

what about products that you don't find in England and that you only can buy in Germany with internet...
wide alloys,euro style products...
that's not a huge market in England but could be become more popular...

stock discount parts that include tbs for x14xe corsas, and lupo tunning and styling parts

or on a more seroius note

whats been said above and what baout going into a niche market and focusing on one particular brand or style

theres not many vaux places left, so if you focused on them, i think you would do well, as dispite what happed to pvd, they must have served so many customers, so if you focus on one brand, and provide a good sercive, people will use you

I was actually thinking about focusing on Vauxhall only, Vauxhall is where most of my knowledge is, i spoke to my dad about it but he said about me loosing out when it comes to other cars i can supply parts for, it could be a very good idea but it is certainly a risk

i would really think about it

you will lose out to people who have saxos etc

but them you wont have all the competition of all the other companys doing the same thing

with pvd long gone, i think it would be such a worthwhile risk

and lets face it, theres not alot of other brands you could focus on

MTech, the manufacturer of the kits.
Now supplied by LMF.

For a range, stick to a selection of quality well supplied products. Don't diversify and don't waste time with low volume high cost crap for high-end tuning - it would be nice to sell, but you can't run a business on it unless you can offer fitting, tuning, etc.

And if he can offere better prices then people will use him.

Suppliers don't like it if people shag out their products under RRP.

good on ya mate for starting this up
i agree with what has already been said about customer service, at all times just tell the truth and dont blag people off with crap, because people will notice and you will loose customers.

However, the main reason alot of companies go under, is because of the large number of parts they supply. The more stuff you sell, the more knowledge you need to have in those specific areas to seel the parts, in order to help the customer services side, and more different suppliers you have, causes more and more headaches.

Personally Red_Sxi i would keep it to one manufacture, ie Vauxhall and just do parts for a number of cars and build up on that once you have money behind you and you can bring someone else in to share some of the load on customer services etc. Plus you will build on your conenctions with your suppliers which help loads, as it usually leads to discounts etc etc. Also, if you do parts which other sites dont sell, like european parts, will help you to gain a nice section in the market

eitherway mate, the site looks pretty good, although the flash intro looks abit un-professional, but on the whole looks pretty clean and tidy, and has a nice user interface

Just a tip that if could be useful that you can arrange group buys on here on selected products. the Civic website often do group buys where members get a specific % off when they buy 10 or more products. I have noticed that this is very popular
