I think St Anger is aimed at the fans who arent into the mega heavy stuff, Nothing else matters, and for whom the bell tolls are by far their best imo.

Compared to their older stuff to me its a mess, from great lyrics to frantic tic tic tock(possibly ripped off from hickory dickory dock i dunno).James hetfield needs to start on the vodka and corn flakes and write some good songs and kirk needs to stop thinking hes too good for long guitar solos.
