The 1st of august i decide to go look at a few cars.A seat ibiza 1.9, fiat punto and corsa 1.2i.

Out of the 3, the least wanted was the corsa.

So i go to manchester (salford) and view the ibiza, give him a knock and no answer so i decide to ring him.He then pulls up beside me in an astra and asks me to follow him round a set of council estates to a small carpark. At this time i'm thinking this could be dodgy and thinking about calling the whole thing off.The car looked in good condition from the pic, but up close if was a right piece of scrap.Engine sounded great though but inside it looked like a shit hole. The left passenger door was duff painted.

Next was the punto, called but no answer.

Now the corsa, from the picture the colour looked great and this is wot mainly attracted me to buying this car.Plus the alloys looked pretty decent. It was a 1.2i twist 1995 with tsw alloys. The interior was in great condition, but the bodywork was chipped.Scratches down both sides, painwork was chipping off under the boat, stone chips on front bumper etc.I gave it a test drive and was very pleased though. He could not find the FOB for the alarm which was a bastard. So it would need a new one.I made him an offer of £1300 and he took it.
I never thought id ever be buying a corsa. But the colour of this one i liked alot.

Since buying the car i've done quite a few jobs. Both front disks and rear drum breaks have been replaced and painted blue.New alarm has been fitted with amb.Green side repeaters replaced with blue.

I've got a few problems with the car.The head unit is a bog standard system fitted by vauxhall. The two back shelf monuted speakers are sony xplod. And the front two and bog standard vauxhall speakers.I've removed the front left speaker as it was ripped and making a really bad vibrating noise.I need somone to reccomend a audio system for my car as its my birthday in 2 days and my parents want to buy me somthing The shelf monuted speakers dont need to be replaced. But i need two front speakers that will fit in the door panels. Also a good anough amp and boom box? I know theres tones of head units out there too choose from.Is alpine the best for in car audio systems? i've heard quite alot about them.I've got a problem with the radio on the bog standard head unit.Every 2 mins or so the radio cuts out and displays "searching" on every channel.I know this is not a problem of my area.Is this the head unit or the aerial?

red_sxi, heard you loud and clear mate

Been looking into lowering by 40mm with either apex or pi springs.

Just taken some pictures of the bodywork. Here you can see cracks on the bumper and bent door hinge where some scally wagg has tried to rob it spoils a nice colour.

Can this be fixed?

Wots your Colour code? If its z277513 then its the same colour.Yours looks in great condition Lovely car.Wot lowering springs you using on the sri?

I see you've kept the side strips too (orignal colour are they?).I've been thinking about getting rid of mine for a smoother look.

Side on look of inside the drivers seat door.

If you discount the fact that some of the bodywork is in poor condition then it's really nice . I like the colour - get it polished and do some work on it and you could make it look as damn nice as and-m's

Dont think ill be getting a new door, Alright the inside looks bad where the metal has bent but you hardly notice it unless your looking for defects. Its the outside that concerns me.Everytime i go to unlock the car i'm reminded of the gastly dent and key marks on the door.It does not look that bad in this picture, in real it looks alot worse.

Not sure wot you mean by rcl. Remote central locking
If thats what your asking the answer is no.But it has recently had a new imobolizer fitted.

I've not even passed my test yet I'm 18 on tuesday then its my test 1 week afder that.I can only drive with L plates atm with my bloody parents with me break,BreakBREAK GOD DAMM IT!!!! AREEEEE NOOOO!!! BANG

Nearly crashed it the other day.My dad told me to go right then left.I had 1/10 of a secound to react and nearly slammed it into a parked car which should not of been there in the first place.

My parents are away atm and i've been so tempted to go for a drive.I nearly did it.But then i noticed the highway code book on the dashboard and gave the penaties and fines page a quick read.Does not say wot u get for driving without a licence but it does say driving when banned 6 mounts imprisoment and £5,000 fine My dad might of noted down the milage also so i'm not taking the risk.Only 8 days to go and i'm free

nice motor mate....
resonably similar to mine...

you may have paid a bit over the odds though, mines on a late '94 plate, limited etd. swing, 1200 8v etc...
paid £675

having said that it did need taxing and a new alloy

anyway, enjoy it mate....
