Ok heres the deal, my mates a bit of a car dealer on the side, but he's abit skint at the moment, and he's got a Corsa for sale. Its a 97 R reg black 1.4 16v Sport model, standard apart from some Astra 15 inch alloys on it. Its done 50,000, just had belt rollers and water pump, full MOT and looks in good nick. All he wants for it is the £1800 he paid. Is it worth me working my arse off to get the £600 im short, or are they not right good. Ive currently got a 94 L reg Corsa SRi 1.4 8v on 100,000. Its got 15 inch alloys with 45's on, lowered 60mm, de-catted, 12 months MOT, 1 months tax, and im a Main Dealer Apprentice mechanic, so its been looked after. Seriously how much am i looking at getting for that? HELP!!!

get a 1.6 model instead, but that does sound like a good car that hes offering you

I was gonna get a new loan in november and get a 1.6 either Corsa Saxo or summing, but this just sounds to good. Am i being naive?

Get pics and an advert in classifieds for £2k, then buy it off him for £1800.

Private good - 2330
Private poor - 1290
Trade - 1740
So yeah, it should fly out at £2k. Thats based on 70k miles as well, your example has less.
I wouldn't swap it for yours though, yours is tidy

is it really worth flogging it on at £200 profit. Its off a mate whos doing you a good deal so seems a bit cheeky to me.

mine had alot of problems at about 60,000 miles.
radiator,
thermostat
headgasket
water pump
fuel pump
still got loads needs fixing, steering rack, driveshafts a bit loose/knocking, suspension, clutch,
i don't treat it too kindly tho

Went to look at the Sport today, its not as good as i thought, only minor things like its done 70k not 50k, and there's a little bit of attempted theft damage on the n/s door. It doesnt seem much faster than my 8v tho, i was quite dissapointed. What else can i get for £2000 cash? I also have the chance to buy an M reg Astra 1.8 16v Sport 3dr in black with 15,000 miles on it for around £1500.
