I've been on the look out for an older Clio 1.8 16V on like an M plate, but have been finding nothing that really appeals to me and is still standard.

I'm thinking of saving loads over the winter, and getting a newer car really. Looking at spending no more than 11-12K. I do a good 20,000 miles a year also.
Not really looking to mod my next car either.

Anyways the new Clio 182s have caught my eye. Look very nice and have a fair bit of poke. Has anyone got one/driven one and what are peoples views on them in comparison to other hot hatches?

I've got a Clio 172 Cup mate, and I'm really happy with it. I was quite worried about buying french after stories I heard about build quality etc, but I have been pleasantly suprised by how well put together it is. They are pretty damn nippy aswell. Performance wise the Cup is capable of matching the CTR or LCR. I'd definately recommend one.

Excellent car's, lots of car for the money, handle well, quick and look sweet...

Mint valvers are hard to find (1.8 16v's) generally not as refined as the newer renaultsports, but just as fun and very old skool.

Id love a 172 Cup myself... or even a willy 1 or 3

Very nice cars, I don't like the new 182's, I prefer the model before.

The one that is in the Va Va Vroom adverts with Henry.

mates has a clio 16v, we went and testdrove a 182, it only felt marginly quicker and it didnt go round corners aswell (his is lowered just on springs) so decided not too bother, your much better off getting a 2nd hand cup.

I have a Renault not a clio but I would't have one again. The car is ok and for the moment serves a purpose till im 25, but the build quality worries me. Although the interior is better than the corsa was.
