Same reason I spent £350 on my front bumper, it's a hobby, something you enjoy and see as being a worthwhile expense

it's also something I'll never do again

That camera is awful. I bougth 2 a while back and only used them a couple of times befiore i took them back. The white balance on them is terrible with a huge blue cast. Write times are so slow its like chiseling the picture onto a stone tablet.

I suspect you had a crappy CF card then. white balance is better than the D10 and can be adjusted. maybe you failed to read the instructions properly

nope both cameras used a 1gig microdrive as are all my digital cameras. so i have something to compare them to. I know you can adjust the white balance but if something is off from the start then you lose the adjustment if you need it later on.
