Ever since an early age I have shown a great awareness in computing. This developed when I became fluent in the GWBASIC programming language. Alongside this I took a great interest in the hardware side. This overture gave me a great advantage when I took my GCSE in Information Technology.

Whilst studying for my Information Technology GCSE I took a greater interest in other programming languages such as, Microsoft Visual Basic and C. This enhanced my logical thinking and allowed me to expand my already learned experience of DOS programming. When I advanced into the Windows GUI, I could explore further into the many other aspects that the Windows Operating System had to offer.

Following on from my GCSE's I took a GNVQ Advanced Business Studies course. This led me in a new direction and portrayed a greater insight into how businesses and eCommerce use IT. During my time at the Chase 6th Form I ensured I stayed well abreast of all the latest Windows operating system, learning what each of them had to offer.

After achieving a Merit in Business Studies, I took up the role as Helpdesk and Data Solutions Assistant at Malvern Hills District Council. This gave me the opportunity to develop other skills, such as working individually, as a team, and practical “on the job” experience such as, Windows NT networking, networking infrastructure and increased responsibilities and prioritisation.

Pursuing my computing career I took up the post of Assistant Technician at Worcestershire County Council. This offered a far more in-depth insight into providing initial Technical Support. My streamlined approach, ambition and my desire for greater responsibility, saw me out grow this role and consequently was offered the position of Technician. These increased responsibilities, coupled with my strict self motivation, allowed me to gain greater job satisfaction and have since developed an excellent team-based approach to my job.

Part of my role is to offer a procurement service therefore having to formulate decisions based on hardware prices against restrictions, such as client budgets. As a result I have built up a large understanding of the many different hardware components available on today’s markets. Remote support is also offered and therefore have learnt a great deal about how eBusiness could, and is carried out in today’s busy and changing marketplace.

I recently completed a Customer Services course, this has given me a greater awareness into how important customer services is to any business and has added to my on-going professional development.

I am a dedicated, hard working individual, with great ambition to succeed in the future.
