Got a brand new iacv fitted on sat on my car, and the revs have been turned up a little ( not my doing ) so it now idles at 800rpm instead of 600rpm- i think this is too high

BUT its still cutting out every now and again

any other ideas? i know the egr valve NEEDS blanking off, but not sure wot else to do

can someone help me please cos i need it sorting out asap

throttle potenionmeter/position sensor "sp"
camshaft sensor

does the engine management light come on at all? if so get urself down to halfords and buy a fault finder this will read off the error codes on your ecu i think they are abt 20 quid

do they both cause the car to cut out??

throttle potentiometer is only £30 i know that for a fact, not sure about camshaft sensor

yea it does when i slow down, mate works in halfords ill get him to test it later on for me

dont waste your time or money changing anything til at least u have tried the fault finder as least this will tell you where the problem lies.

it will come up vss sensor
vehicle speed sensor which can mean any of 6 sensors

id try the throttle one first

on the throttle body i think next to the iacv
id check first thou
when it does come up vss sensor that sensor is built into the dials, now i got a 2nd hand set of dials and it still did it so i doubt both sets were playing up

ill go and get it checked anyway, if i go to vauxhall and go on tech2 will they be able to tell me exactly wot it is to save the arse on? ill flutter my lashes and get it done for free

Sassy when my GSI was running perfect it still ran at 900 revs which is still higher than yours

meant the test not the tp

rang garage and its gunna be £60 to get new one fitted, its £30 for part and £30 for fitted, but id rather see wot it is first

seems to run better at that idle

600 rpm? They are supposed to idle at 900rpm

its been at 600 since i had the car, seems loads better now the idles higher too

i had this problem, tuned out to be lambda sensor and throttle position sensor!

borrowin a fault code reader off me mate later
