Driving to work today down a bypass, speed limit is 60. I was in a hurry to get to work for a meeting so passed 3 cars doing about 100.
A minute later we drive over a round about and I have a Golf up my arse with a roof rack on. Guy is wearing a white shirt with black things on his shoulders, looked like a copper. Sat behind a further 3 cars doing 35 in a 50 so I overtook them and carried on to work.

Could this guy do anything? Points e.t.c?

No as there is no solid evidence who was driving and what speeds you were doing, he can only take a rough guess.

Sometime's you'll get plod waving his warrant card at you - just wave your wallet back and be polite, remembering to keep a hand on the wheel so you remain in control of the car.

they can do fuck all. its like if an undercover cop ever tries to pull you over, just carry on driving. he has no proof, so no reason to worry about it

undercover, in plain clothes, whatever, if a police bloke, whats to stop, arrest you he can, thats why he's a copper.

if he see's someone slab someone, he can arrest them, if they see someone pissed in a car they can stop them, fine them, if they see you breaking the law, you can be done for it. that is why they are the police

not if they are of duty. i wouldn't have though, just because he's not in a police car doesn't mean he wasn't on duty.

just making a point

er........this is wrong!! Police in unmarked cars can stop you and u'll get arse raped if you don't stop!!

In the scenario of this post, don't worry about it!! His speedo would not have been callibrated so there is no proof of how fast you were going

yeah i know they can arrest people an that when off duty cause my mate is a copper but there no way he could have done you for speeding when in his private car mate u need some sort of calibrated equpment to proove how fast you were going etc, also even if he had been in a police car and u'd flown past him he could have only done you for your aveage speed after he started to follow you becuase he would have had no solid proof how fast you were going when you went past him. i'd just slow down a bit next time mate and think yourself lucky! LOL Plus think of it this way its not like you murdered someone, and would u like to do watever you do for a job on your days off! i know i wouldnt so should think he'd ave turned a blind eye unless it was really serious anyway, ie drunk or whatever

Depends if it was his own car or an unmarked police car. The latter may just have the ability to accurately track your speed, and even then he'd have to follow you for 1/10th mile at that speed to prosecute.

My dad used to be an ambulanceman, was driving back from a ceremony in full uniform, when some guy overtook him and cut him up... must have then seen the epaulettes and hat on the dash that resemble coppers uniform, stopped and waved my dad down to apologise profusely...
