I've seen a 1.4 16v corsa on a t plate on e-bay. He's also a member on here. It looks like a nice, clean car from what i can see. The only thing concerning me is the mileage. It says its got 75000 on the clock. Is this a lot for a 1.4 valver ???? Will it still be reliable etc. ???

What sort of thing will i have to check if i go up an view it ???

Cheers

Steve

he says its got vaux service history up to 52000, an cambelt was changed 2 years ago, not too sure on mileage its done since though.

What sort of things apart from that should i look for ??? Areas of the bodywork etc ???

Theres a link to the auction. He also has a post in cars for sale on here. All i really want to know is whether it will remain reliable at 75000 miles and above, cos i will keep it all through uni and won't want expensive repair bills. Do these engines last a long time etc, or are they prone to go wrong once they get some mileage under there belt

Apart from the wheels and lights its standard, i think you could get a standard 1.4 16v with less miles mate

not too much to look for dude, headgasket and s/h more visual really my m8 ran his 1.4 16v too 120,000 miles and he ragged hell out of it and still sold it on, there good engines if looked after

rust spots can occurr at bottom of spoiler on tailgate, around rear wiper hole, and bottom of doors in my experience of them

best to view it really

ps if it has no steering wheel walk away lol

he only wants 2k for it, which i thinks a good deal.

How much do u reckon i'll get for mine ??? 98 'R' 1.0 12v corsa on 42,000 miles, full service history, new clutch, clutch cable, m3's, 15's, lexus lights, universal induction kit, backbox etc. (pics in garage)

see what u mean though, cos it ain't overly modded in anyway an the mileage is higher than what i got now, but its the fact that i need a 1.4, cos the 1.0 just isn't for me any more. I'll ava look on trader to see if i can find anythin

since buying mine on 33500 miles, and its now on 97000.

car cost me £3500, 2 years ago, and have spent about £3000 in repair bills seems lots when i add it up..

£500 of that was mechanics fault tho...and maybe it had repercussions he didn't tighten the cam belt tensior properly.
