How can you find out your credit history? can you just call somewhere to find it out or do you have to pay a website to find it out?
I had a look online and some places charge £20+ to get it for you. Surely if it is information stored about you, then you are allowed access to any information stored about you due to data protection acts.
Any info much appriciated, due to hunt for a loan

you could also try ringing a company called equifax
there no is on yellow pages (you need your local branch's no) & they send you out a breakdown of your credit scoring

Does a bank overdraft count as credit at all? I have been using mine for about 6 months now - just £20 worth cos I thought it might count....

an overdraft is credit but its not going to help get your rating up like a credit card or loan
