Is this just a case of undoing the bolts that are visible on the top of the rocker cover? Im getting mine powder coated while the car is off the road in the body shop, got to go up there later and take it off! Ive also heard it has to be put back on with a torque wrench, is this very important, and if so, how tight should it be put back on? Cheers, Matt

Coolant hoses, and breather hoses will have to come off..... a few wee bolts inside the sparkplug gallery if i remember correctly too

Cheers adam! My mate who built a kit car with C20XE has been persuaded to come along and help me remove it cos at least he knows waht he's doing. Think im gonna get another gasket for it anyway cos the engine is 13 years old and it cant do any harm.

jesus that was fun getting it off! Took all the bolts and everyhting off, and it wouldnt budge. Spent ages looking for something holding it down, but couldnt see anything at all. Took the dizzy off too just in case, but it was just the gasket holding it on - nothing a bit of wood and a sledge hammer didnt fix By the time we got it off, the powder coating place had closed, so i got to take it there tomorrow, ah well!

its something to do with fixing a small piece of metal to the underside of the cover that stops the oil from splashing into the breather pipes, its supposed to stop the jerkiness when you lift off the accelerator when slowing down when still in gear.
