Don't take them off, i did it on my old 02 reg sri and it left faded marks where they used to be. I mentioned it on corsa-c.co.uk and a few people have had the same problem. I'd just get your rubbing strips colour coded

Colour code them! that way youve still got the line to break up the side of the car whilst at the same time making it look "cleaner"
