Yes, its a claim.
You also need to declare it as they'll most likely already know about it anyway.

no, if you dont claim.....
if the insurance company tell me its going to be a 50-50 or a 75-25 in my favour, cant afford to claim so i will have to pay 50% or 25% of the costs of the womans car and my car.
But when i come to renew my insurance will they charge me extra for having an accident but i DID'NOT claim...

You're funding the 50% yourself?
My mate paid to fix his car himself. Entirely his fault and he paid 100%. It cost him £1100. He renewed and out of interest got a quote for if he had have claimed as well, the difference was 7 pound. NCB makes a difference, but in my experience not using insurance isn't profitable!

Was your mate older as i find it hard to belive it will be that little difference if went for an insurance quote....
19year old with 0 points and 1 accident (claimed)
compared to
19year old with 0 points an 1 accident (no claim)
surely there should be at least £100 difference, if not i will claim. I will have to phone up 2-3 insurance companies and see what the difference will be, should be interesting.
