just rang up finance company for a settlement figure on the old corsa. I know there are only 4 payments left, so thats £425. They now inform me that there are charges on top of this now from when I was out of work 2 years ago & had trouble paying on time, I was like 3-4 days late on each payment, nothing too bad. Also paid in cash each time. They say the charge is £12 er day late, PLUS £25 for paying in cash each time! Fcukers!
So whats left is.
Remaining Monthly Payments = £425
Charges = £469.46
Total Left = £894.46
Moral of the story - don't get a car on finance if you can avoid it, they will try fcuk you over one way or the other to get more money. Reason for all the charges, the time I was out of work & late with payments, they were faffin about with the payment protection cover & by time they had it sorted I had got a new job, so they wouldn't back-date it to when I put the application in. So the payment protection did fcuk all
rant over

aye.... similar story for me...
came back from Norway (was there for a month) had cancelled my ins with Adrian Flux..... and was not aware that there finance company charged so bloody much for admin fee's etc etc
was supposed to pay 200, ended up paying 300 d/t late fee's etc..
If they'd have bloody phoned me on the numbers they ask for it would have been sorted out!!
Useless bastards

I had a saxo on finance and i was paying through the nose for it. I solved my problem by writing the car off and the GAP ins paid the rest (didnt write it off intentionally by the way, but i'm glad i got rid of it)

Done similar other day (changed car over and payment never went thru cos they 4got to tell me it'd take 2 weeks), opened letters 2 weeks after I got them oops
Phoned up spoke to sum biff imigrant told me all sorts of rubish, argued with her got put on hold for 25 mins cheeky hoe, finally spoke to her 'supervisor' argued the toss with him (quoted loads of fsa and complaints procedures to him - cos' I used to deal with our commercial complaints ) scared him to re-instate the policy with a £10 admin fee and the original extra
