Hey peeps, im on wireless broadband here. I am currently experiencing some slow transfer in files and i emailed their technicians. He wanted me to email him my IP address and says he has a solution, but what else could he do to my comp???

Also does neone know what he means by solution?

if you foned the Internet Service Provider (ISP)...he should be able to get your IP himself......Ntl did it to ours....they changed all the ip settings on our home network...so that the home network would work......if i was you...i perosnally wouldnt give him your IP.....just sya...cant you get it at your end...if he says nor.....i wud find a different compoany...as they probs dnt no ther arse from there elbow

the solution he will be on about will probably be changing port numbers.....so certain port numbers open wen your tranferring and allow for more bandwith

did u ring ur own ISP? or just sum random technician?

nah he installed by service and put the ip in for me as well. Also he increased my bandwidth top bloke, he was helping me to solve a problem at midnight once

Slow transfer of files over MSN (I read your other post) is due to a firewall or router blocking ports, so MSN has to make a connection via it's own servers rather than directly.
