Right, I have had my Mini Cooper for about 8 months now but I start work next month so I am thinking of upgrading to a Cooper S.

Mine cost £14k new 8 months ago and has 6k on the clock.

I don't want to spend too much to upgrade so would prob go for a second hand S, fully loaded for about 15.5-16k.

Now the dilema - the S would be older and prob have more miles than my current Cooper.

Is it worth going for an older car?

My other option is too keep the Cooper and wait till next summer and get a BMW 330 Cab.

Which would you do?

Also, what would be reasonable insurance on the Cooper S?

I am 21, no NCB, no points, good postcode, grp 16 car I think. Best quote so far is £1300.

Not keen TBH. I like the overall Mini package, servicing, dealers, build quality, residuals etc.

I personally wouldnt change after 6 months for an older simmilar car with more miles.....you will probably want to change the S for a BMW cab next year anyway. Id keep what you got until then and get BM

that quote is cheap

my mate has a 53 reg mini cooper s and he is paying £4500 through is dads insurance but he has had 2 accidents only 20 and no yrs no claims

the car itself is rapid and well worth going for imo

I hate waiting

It is probably the best option. I will check on waiting lists for a 330 Cab.

Just prefer the look of the BMW and the residuals are stronger.

But no where near as quick as the 330 or as nice...

Waiting list for 330 cab will be at least a few months....

Waiting is a bitch, we had to wait 12 week for our Zafira GSi. Worth the wait though
