what happens when you turn the key as if tho start the car? do any of the lights dim? or is it a case of literly nothing happens?

Right obviously the battery aint dead as all the leccy is workin, as for the key does it actually turn, but which I mean as if your gonna start it??

u may of caught a wire when putting dash back together

Only thing i could think of is as people have already said,


immobiliser

you 100% it aint that,

the lights could well still come on if the key goes in,

it all depends on how the alarm is wired to the ignition,

i can turn the key fully as normal!

When i got to start it, final turn, nothing happens no lights dim or anything, lights just stay on!

im pretty sure its immobiliser as the alarm functions properly, as in been sat there then the immobiliser kicks in after certain time as normal turn key press alarm fob and turns off and lights come on on dash!

u need to take the coloum bottom cowling off - turn the key to the start position, and make sure there is voltage getting to the starter motor wire

mine did this one, and it was a problem with the black plastic thing that clips onto the back of the ignition barrel

Im guessing now that it is the barrel as everything else is normal like!

i know this sounds stupid but if an auto is in gear you cant take the keys out just wiggle the gear stick

have take ignition barrel apart dunt take long maybe plugs come out or somtin in the barrel

starter motor for starters is a good place. could be stuck. try and tap with hammer. or out car in gear and try and rock it

look in engine bay below header tank. were the gear box bolts to the engone theres a motor. probably about the size of a coke bottle. the heater matrix hoses will be covering it

have u tried turning the steering wheel side to side as you try to remove the key?

Sounds like a wire on the barrel has come off which wont complete the ignition circuit, take the cowling off and have a double check of it all
