Saw a mint, completely untouched Escort RS Cosworth yesterday. Nice purple colour, only 56,000 miles and owned from new by a 55 year old fella.

Had decided to buy it and sell the coupe until I tried to get insured on it.

The cheapest quote was £2480!

I don't get it. My car is just as fast now and I'm only paying £1442 fully comp.

Shocked cos high, or shocked cos low?

I feel it's pretty low for a 21 (at time) year old living in London for a 240bhp car.

The Cossie is a highly respected car capable of double if not tripple the speeds of yours , its one of the most common cars to be stolen as it fetches a nice easy price.

p.s im pretty sure its faster than yours

My car as it is, versus a standard Cossie. Mine would win.

not a sluph of a chance , this car is a rally car , desinged to go fast and drive perfectly , your car is a modern day coupe with a good engine ,

i wouldnt even fancy my chances against a standard one , on a straight road aswell

Escort Cosworth is as standard, 0-60 in 5.7, 1/4 mile in 14.8 or 15.2 (depending on s1 or s2 model) and 138mph top speed.

Mine is approx 6.0secs 0-60, low 14's 1/4 mile and 160mph top speed.
