what exactly does offset mean?
it has always confused me,i have 15's 35 offset n just read loads of threads about ppl wiv these n some have problems
i want to lower it 40mm soon would that b ok?
i know the perfect offset for corsas is 37
any advice aprieciated

Mmmm dont know your vauxhalls then do you nat.
Standard offset from vauxhall is 49, but alot of people use 45.
If you have 35 and lower it you are in for a great wheel arch rubbing.
Have fun buying tyres.

You should be ok by doing what you are planning, as i am going down the same route.
Hope fully should not rub but might if get a big bump.
But as am getting a kit and fitting it i am going to get the arches rolled so no rubbing will ever happen and make way for my future plans of bigger wheels.

15s, ET45 lowerd 40mm will be allmost perfect  go for it

i have 15 on 195/15 and the alloys have a offset of 35!
i have my corsa lowered 40mm on springs. the car only rubs when the car is FULL will ppl. otherwise is fine with like 4 ppppfolks in it
