Heres how the story goes....
Applied for a whad of jobs recently, and eventually agreed to some extent to start with a company called HML tomorrow. As of yet, i havent sogned anything.
Now, heres where the problem lies...... i have just received a phone call from endsleigh insurance (better prospects & money etc...) who now want me to go their work place on wednesday to basically "job shadow" for the day, before going for a final interview.
I am honestly stuck as to what to do.
If i start at HML tomorrow, they want 4 weeks notice as to when i would wish to leave.
Help me here folks. Havent a scooby how to go about this without upsetting either company.

bit of a sticky one this!
If it were me I'd probably try and come up with a decent reason as to why you cant start untill after your final interview with Endsleigh

no, if you want to work for endsleigh, does it matter what HML think of you if you quit, telling em its not the job you had hoped for

Just found something out; by law you are not obliged to give any employer 4 weeks notice within the first 13 weeks..... 1 week is sufficient.
Therefore what i can do is:
Go to HML tomorrow and clearly state that i have a funeral on the wednesday.
Got to endsleigh and see how it goes.
If the final interview isnt that same day, i will try and arrange it for a lunch break or so.... work that out when it comes.
Now, if i am unsuccessful with endsleigh..... i've still got a job. If i am successful, then i simply give my weeks notice. Like it or lump it.
Cheers for the help etc folks.
I'll keep yous posted on how it goes.
