I read the thread entitled "First pics of Vauxhall new VXR Range", and people are criticising the way that vauxhall designed the VX220 with just a ruler, stating that it is too "edgy" (whilst it still produces a very low drag coefficient) and then in another thread "2004 Nissan Micra 'R'" people are moaning about cars being "too rounded"?!?!? If all manufacturers designed cars like nissan sunny's and toyota Corolla's (old ones) then it would be a very boring place indeed. What is everyones views on the "ideal" design of a car???

exactly, its entirely down to personal preference, yet people still slate a car because of the way it looks, yet still does the job of being very quick as well as appealable to a large number of people.

colin, i believe that all this sort of design is pushed towards it by stringent rules on car design, making sure it will protect passengers in the car, as well as protecting those outside of it. A good example is the Vauxhall Lightning concept, which will never see production as it will cut pedestrians in two when it hits them
