Twinport mate are new Vauxhallengines out in most vehicles, nothing spesh about em, better fuel economy than standard and engines look smaller than what they are, eg 1.4 lookslike a 1.2, 1.8 looks like a 1.4..just a fancy name really

i dont know the full story but its sumthing to do with the combustion
it claims (slightly) better performance and increased fuel economy
^^yeah n the engines look smaller than they really are

Twinport engines employ a variable intake manifold combined with two separate inlet ports per cylinder. Vauxhall say that this gives the engine enhanced flow characteristics, designed to maximise swirl and promote more efficient burning of the fuel/air mixture. The process is assisted by a high rate of exhaust gas recirculation. The result, strong power delivery with outstanding fuel economy.

Twinport technologyTwinport technology builds on the standard four-valve technology of ECOTEC engines. Yes, the 1.6 16v engine found in the Astra G is toilet and is only capable of 0-60 in 10.2 seconds.
Where as the 1.8 16v Astra G is much better capable of a 0-60 of 8.5 seconds and 128mph.
