why buy a car thats clearly rated by many automotive journalists as no competition for its rivals, in particular 106 GTi or Saxo VTS

please dont say 'cos its a corsa'

i still do

theres not alot wrong with them no, but they are far worse a car than its market competitors

its not all about speed. its about driveability, something which is lacking in corsas ive been in

looks can also be brought into this argument and IMO the corsa c is way better looking with its modern design compared to the slightly dated looking 106 and saxo. Plus, i wouldnt b caught dead in a saxo as they r as common as muck and i like to be different Just my opinion tho

obviously they aint the only options, but they are probably the market leaders at the moment. i agree wth what you say about the looks, Cs do have a stylish look and id choose just about anything over a saxo, but 106s arent bad, the GTi and Rallyes stand out from your boggo 106s

my main arguement tho is there are better cars out there for a fun filled driving experience. for one i reckon Frans lupo would out handle the corsas on here. also Ka's are pretty nippy in the steering. just a shame they didnt do them with the 1.25 or 1.4 zetecs

lol too dam rite it would bonzai lol, big wheels see

on a more serious note, i was contemplating buying a 106 gti, but after reading reports about them they dont crash too well apparently.

say what ya like about veedubs being unreliable, but the build quality in them seems sturdy enough, so im sticking with them for now

well....

1, speed can be sorted with an engine transplant....

2, handling can be sorted with a nice set of coilovers

3, cant knock the corsa for compfort

and id rather have big wheels

well theres an easy answer to that

and kurtis, yes theres always an answer by throwing money at a car but why should you?!?! modifications just push your premium up. and id still put money on a 106 GTi whooping a 2.0 16v converted corsa on a real road

I'm with ben, given the of a new(ish) car, it would have to be the 106GTi, with a full weld in cage mind, and if you think they are bad at crash's, wait till you see what nova's can do.
Got to be said, throwing the same amount of money at both a corsa and a pug, the pug will be better cause it's better to start with, however you can't beat the redtop of the small block XE engines.

taken from Evo magazine:

106 GTi - 4.5 / 5 (best handling supermine - starting to show its age)
106 ralle 1.6 - 4 / 5 (bargain no frills thrills - not as much fizz as original 1.3)
106 rallye 1.3 - 5 / 5 (Frantic, thrashy fun - needs caning to extract full potential)

oh look...

Corsa 1.8 SRi 3 / 5 (the sensible suupermini - lacks real flair)
