Or need a panel replaced or summat?

The whole side has to be resprayed does it? or can like a bonnet be done separately?

I mean Nissan did a run of those flip colour micra and primeras and i wanted to know what happens if they crash etc? Coz surely normal old bodyshops can repair it properly etc? Cant get the paint etc?

All out of curiousity this

just respray the panel. easy.
yes all bodyshops can get the paint. most bodyshops have their own paint scheme anyway so mix it up themselves.
i know my bro can get any paint from their paint suppliers ( he works for ford bodyshop)

So, even tho its a flip paint and the metallicy little flake things are orientated in a certain way....you could just buy a new bonnet, spray it with the same stuff, and you wont be able to tell??

I always thought there was more to it with flip paints???

Example... you have your car painting in Rage Extreme Ecstasy blue /green, and some blind old biddy reverses into your wing and crumples it.
You would either repair or replace the wing, then you would have to order the paint from who ever made it ie Rage, Standox, PPG. You have to do this because everyday paint mix schemes dont have the tinters needed to make flip paint, so quite simply, you wouldnt be able to get a paint match. So once you got the paint you would paint the whole wing or just the primed part of the repair with the base colour, for example a black base coat as is so comminly used with flips, then you would hit the repair or full wing the chromoflair/flip. If you paint the whole wing then you would have to wash some paint onto the door and bonnet, then fade out the lacquer. Any good / Experienced painter wont have any trouble doing it.

My opinion is that allot of people are scared of flip paint because they are worried that if they have a ding etc, they need a full respray. But really it is fairly straight forward.

its very VERY hard to get a good as original match with any of this kind of paint.

it will always be easy to tell under different lights.

Flip paints can not be matched by an every day bodyshops paint mix scheme. So you would have to get the paint from the company you bought the paint from, or get a similar colour from another company and try to blend it in.
However, if you buy the paint from a fairly reputable company, you will never have any problems in getting more if you should need it.

You wont always be able to tell, unless the person that did it, did a turd job of it. You could only tell if you just painted a single panel, rather than painting onto the surrounding panels
