Author 2 litre engines?

Ok i was at a mates garage today and spotted a 2 litre 16v vauxhall engine had a look and all is in order but doesnt have a box.

What i need to know is if its a c20xe or X20XEV which i dont think it is.



Thats what it looks like but says ecotech instead of opel on the plug cover.

Also what box would be needed for this for a corsa?

the pic is a c20LET, but it sounds like you have a x20xev

But the x20xev looks like this and the plug cover goes straight across the top but this one ive found has the plug cover that goes up then along if you know what i mean.

Basicly it looks identical to a redtop but the plug cover is black and says ecotec.

Im at home now i was there earlier so cannot get pics i did have a look for the engine code but didnt really know where to look and it was up on a shelf so couldnt see that well, but i know it looks identical to the redtop but with a black cover and says ecotec on it. It doesnt have a box so what box is generally used for 2 litre conversions?

F20.

It sounds like an XEV. Maybe someone had a custom cover made for the plugs? Who knows best way is to get pix or go back and look at the engine proper. I cant remember where its written.

It looks standard not made up. Im thinking it might be sprayed black

My mate recons it was out of a vectra but not at all sure.

Well as i said he was just guessin what car it came out of. Might have been a cav from a while back. They have just moved premises you see and alot of stuff have been moved around. Hmm wonder if they have a f20 box??

Also does lee mitchel do the fitting kits like pvd sell?

Only if it was a turbo'd engine - LET means turbo....

the turbo cover across the top???? i know LET is their code for turbo, cos i own one . If it was C20LET it'd say DOHC 16v on it, not ecotech.

Im pretty sure its not an LET as i couldnt see a turbo but you never know. I will have another look at the engine another time but im sure it looked like a c20xe with a black cover and diff writing. Im sure i saw the bend in the plug cover like on the xe's and LET's.

at the front of the engine bay the turbos straight infront, just behind the rad

Its not in a car just the motor on a shelf with no box. And i really dont think its a LET.
