Some one should phone him and tell him to swap it for a 20xe, cause he'd have saved loads of money

Im pretty sure Kindness was getting low 6's in his Bucket V1 was he not? That was just a standard stripped out (understatement ) 2.0.

Not a clue mate.

1 advantage with a 1.4 over a 2.0 tho is less weight in the front.

Better handleing

I'd say he's used it for being in a 1400cc catergory more than anything, but yeah, it would handle well being a small 8v lump .

143hp, quaife short ratio box and a stripped car would have expected a bit quicker

yes but the close ratio box makes up for the lack of torque

Never said it was, but being as its only about 15 brake down and, like vibs said, it has a close ratio gearbox (straight cut gears too- less frictional losses) and slicks, you'd expect it to be quicker that 7.1 seconds

. Even still though, with these things, out right speed isnt everything. Im sure it'd rape most 2.0 16v's on the track/stage .

Thing is its only a 1.4 8v engine ... so to get that sort of power from it is really good...

and vibs, if a 2.0 16v gets 0-60 in around 7 secs, with around 150ish bhp and 150ish lb/ft of torque I think a near to 7 sec 0-60 in a 1.4 with not much torque and less power than a 2.0 is pretty decent.
