Got a brand new Corsa 1.8 SRi on Friday. Did about 50 miles that evening just taking it very easy enjoying my new motor.
Went to work on saturday and decided to have a nice run down the M1. I cruised for about 10mins, then i went into the BMW lane for about 5 mins to see what the car is made of. Not wanting to over stress the engine i just moved into the lorry lane and sat at 70MPH for a few minutes before a light came on the dash. The car seemed ok but i came off the next junction....when coming down the off ramp the car started sounding really rough. Anyway, came to some traffic lights and the engine just cut out and i couldn't get it started.
Some kind soul pushed me over the road to a safe place. AA guy turns up within 30mins (top bloke), plugs his laptop in which says their is a misfire on cylinders 3 & 4. So my brand new Corsa (142 miles on clock) got towed home by the AA.

Got a courtesy car - Daewoo Matiz 0.8l 6v.

The Corsa is sitting on my drive waiting to be towed to the dealers tomorrow.

Anyone had similar problems? Likely to be easy to fix? The AA guy had a guess that the coil pack is knackered. I'm just rather gutted at the moment.

My sister's new lupo broke down after 50miles. The accelrator cable snapped. They just blamed that the parts are mass-produced. Although we could get a complete refund of the car, but decided not to cus its the car my sister wanted, SO they fitted a alarm for free as a goodwill gesture. You should try and get something like that or free servicing next time, etc.

I would never even consider for one minute that it is acceptable to hand over such a large sum of money for the car to last 142 miles. Id get a new one or tell em to stick it.
