A few questions about doing the conversion....

Where do I get the fitting kit from to do the conversion?
Can I use the brakes off of me Cav donor car, I'm stealing the front brakes off it, so I may as well take the backs too, if it'll work...
And, How will the handbrake be operated?

Cheers guys ED

The pvd kit was/is made by M-Tech, so if PVD do not sell it anymore (although it still on their website as of 10minutes ago) then im sure you can get the kit from somewhere else etc. It will save alot of hassle by the looks of it

Personally though, i would have wacked the thing into a garage and get them to sort it out. Cost more, but if anything fooks up there is some come back Plus your pissing around with brakes, which isnt always a good thing

I'm pretty handy with me tools and welder. I reckon I could do it myself...

I think I will get the M-Tec kit though, it should come with the parts to hook the handbrake stuff up too, cos the guide on MIG to do that made little sense...

true mate but when you next loose control of your car and press the pedal and nothing works in the backend, i think you mind might change abit But i suppose, if you get it checked over by someone then it should be alright

I'm gonna have to get an engineers report done on my car anyway, as it's having a new engine, if the brake conversion is unsafe, then it'll fail that, so... Should be safe...

get it done before your report mate That way if something had gone tits up and you havnt spotted it, then like you say, it will be spotted by the report

Yea, basically I got a Cav for a donor car, I'm stealing lots of parts off it, then I'll try and sell a few biths, though I have taken most the good bits . All the parts are going on over the summer, then when I'm done mooding all the important bits - engine, brakes, suspension e.t.c.. I'll get it properly tested... Then roling roaded to see what power it'll do

I actually think I'll just nick the gear off the Cav, £100 for something I already got seems a waste...

How did you get the handbrake to work properly?
