havent received log book back for my car yet, but all ive got is the green slips that i got wen i bought the car........so i foned dvla and asked y i aint received new log book and they sed apparently not got the documentation.........so basically i said the tax is up at end of month, how am i supposed to tax it........iv gotta take this green slip but its only valid for 2mths from date u purchased car....this bein 17th february so its outta date now so if the post office dont let me use this i cant tax the car until i receive new v5 log book.........WOT A FCUKIN LOAD OF W*NK!!! wtf am i supposed to do im back at work 8th may and ive gotta re apply for a log book now, fcukin wankers

I think u need to speak to the person u bought the car off not DVLA

i already knew this........didnt get the log book cos she cudnt find it and i bought car with a receipt sayin as long as i get log books back all ok, if i dont im entitled to a full refund.........was registered in her dads name cos it was cheaper for her insurance, ive got all of his details anyway.....but its just an arse on cos i cant go anywere til i get it taxed again........including work

If the V5 is lost you can get a form form the post office to register the car in your name, but I would check with the seller of the car first as said above as they have probably forgotten to send it. Or they have moved to mexico with the profits......?

i already applied once and they reckon they aint received it, im downloadin one now to send off straight away.........the lass cant find it cos shes already looked

This is the trouble with buying a used car? You have to rely on some gimp you don't know to do the paperwork, I had a dealer do a similar thing to me once!! A dealer ffs!! You can't trust anyone these days.........you can however set fire to the dealership in the night.

the green slip says nothing about sale of date - i just taxed my new corsa with one
