not that great, anything over 110mph is scary, and the build quality aint that great..
but we don't really get any lupos in a vdub that have gone wrong,
also there is a pointless optional extra....the center headrest and lap belt for the back, 5 people in a lupo is a bit of a no no

VW are very well built i thought.. my dads had golfs for years and all held up and thru accidents..

nah the new ones are all plasticy, and creak and rattle like fcuk.
expensive too.
i was busting to take a lupo gti out for ages as i was told the were fookin rapid, anyway i got given one to do a predelivery inspection on, and took it for a run, werent that impressed tbh, more nippy than rapid.

would sooner go for the french piece of poop

ive got the 1.4 16V sport model and have had countless problems with it (including new gearbox and engine)

i took the gti out for a test drive couple of years back cos i was looking to trade mine in for one, but i didnt really think it was worth the £6k extra...........couldnt really see much of a power difference either

raced one down the m4 too, 5 speeder i think it must have been, i couldnt overtake it but it couldnt pull from me, nice little race.

but if you dont really wanna pay £9-12k for one second hand, id say mine is a cheaper alternative, can be picked up for around £5k second hand now
