Mate in his Zetec-s (Full zaust + filter) just pulled along side me at 40mph on a dual carrageway, windows down, tunes a blazing........gave me the thumbs up, his bird sitting in passenger seat and went to pull away + show off.........
...............looked in my rear view mirror @ 80mph and he was long gone  Loadsa noise + revs, but not much power 
....Yes, i know Zetec-S's arnt fast, nor is my 306 in the scheme of things, but u should have seen the look on his face as he drew back up next to me  they were still choking on my smog too

i was behind a 4.2tdi audi A8 ( massive thing) and although from what it looked like he was driving normal, i couldn't keep up ( and i have a 1600 16v sport)

Them 4.2's are mental made. Even the bloody 2.0 tdi is a beast in the A3 or A4......

Zetec S can be changed to 2.0 and 2.0 turbo Zetec engines.
Some people even put CVH turbo's in them.
The std ZS is quicker than the figures suggest, and most people got times under 9 to 60 mph. Both of the ones I had were as quick as 1.7 Pumas quoted at 8.6 to 60.
The handling is something else, even an idiot could drive one acorss country quickly, they do everything a VTS does without that nasty lift off oversteer.

u can't even put the zetec s in the same league as a VTS, a VTR is quicker
They are slow, underpowered and usually driven by neds who think they can take on anything. Ok so this statement might be true about some VTS owners but least they have a decent engine and chassis to back it up.
And as for a Zetec S (s for shite btw) out handling a VTS you've obviously never driven one as it would leave a fiesta for dead round the bends.

Zetec-s are slow cars. they are 10s to 60. 30s to 100mph.
