My car will be put off the road in a couple of weeks so I can save up the cash for a re-spray and loads of other bits and bobs plus the tax is out at the end of the month and i've bought a wee runaround in the meantime, what the best way to store it as it won't be put into a garage, it needs to have the oil changed again is it a good idea to change it first or will it be ok sitting with the old oil in it??

All opinions welcome

Use a big stick or something to disengage the clutch. Axle Stands are advisable too, release the brakes and chock the wheels.

Change oil before you start it next time and remove the ignition lead from the dizzy then turn the engine a few times before starting to get the oil to places of the engine.

This is what i was advised to do to my Laguna - it will have been sitting on the drive for 6 1/2 months by the time i get home and use it again.

just leave it with the handbrake off...

disconnect battery (if you have alarm.... dont... but it'll go flat)

easy peasy.... oil change wont matter. before or after... but id do it after

if its standing for a really long time, you can put an additive in the petrol tank to stop the petrol going stale, which happens apparently ???

My car was off the road for 6 months, just started it and let it warm up every 2 weeks or so and it was fine. In a vehicles life, 6 months is no time at all.
