What Myke said.........
Wouldnt mind a go at a RWYB day. Gotta be fun.
Also can you sort it so you get to race a mate or is it totally random?

You have to queue up and generally the person you are next to is not still next to you when you get towards the front of the queue. A bit of friendly persuasion though usually get's people to let you jump forward so you can line up against your mate (I've never had someone say no).
The light sequence..
You line up. When staged you will see two amber lights (top of unit) light up. 1 means you are pre-staged so creep forward very slightly. As soon as both racers are fully staged (both have two amber lights) You will see a violet light closely followed by the amber main lights and a green. Note, the voilet, then amber and green will light all within about .5secs of each other, you then floor it and give it all you got.

I usually hammer it as soon as I see the violet light. No one will have reflexes quick enough to get a launch before the green light that way.
Although you have to watch it, because I believe if you have a reaction time of less than 0.4secs in a proffesional race it becomes a false start. But RWYB isn't so
