needs: new rear discs, new rear calipers, and master cylinder

kwik fit want £600



tryin a few local garages cos i know wot kwik fit are like

still guna be mucho £££ tho



car will be for sale once this is sorted

good old french motors!! the same job on a corsa would cost £6.47

uve had nothing but trouble with that car

on the plus side, kwick fit would probs want about 400 for a similar job on mine, but i gave 50 from scrappers (astra gte rear disks)

car is stuck 40 miles from where i live so cant get it home, plus its brakes and i wouldnt have a clue where to start, best pay the ££ and get it dun properly

never go kwik fit fit mate they are massive rip one they overcharge you on parts and also in my experience tell u that u need stuff that don't need doing they wanted to replace my mastercylinder, rear drums, shoes etc... when it just need new shoes on the rear

if i sold it id be after something around the £3k mark, not decided yet tho

bearing in mind that by the time i sell i'll have spent £2000 on new bits for it (gearbox, driveshaft, starter motor, engine mounts, rear brakes etc)

its gone 2 a local garage now, the bloke laughed when i told him kwik fit's quote

said he can do it much much cheaper and they recovered the car from kwik fit for free

bn out in sooty's 106 gti today, bout as fast as my clio, i want one

you shouldn't have said quick fits price you fool, they'll just under cut them by hundred or so. if you dint tell them, they'd probably have done it for cheaper than what they will charge you now

theyre just sussing out wot i need at the mo, theyve got the car and are having a look at it, theyre goin 2 ring me later and give me the quote, if i dont like it then ill play a few of the local garages off each other

i know wot the parts are worth individually and that comes to about £300 and it'll be a big job 2 whack it all on etc
