what kinda things did you say for them to take an interest and consider helping you out



any ideas, tips, pointers on how to get car places interested in what you have to say.

also, what kinda stuff did you blag- and how helpful were the places generally when you went about asking

Got to have a mag cover car I would have thought, don't think its very easy to get stuff for free, maybe get a discount of some sort?

snowy suggested trying my luck, by ringing car places, saying my cars going to be at the MaxLive in July-

so i wanna try-
but havent really gotta clue as to whats the BEST thing to say to catch their attention

only thing i got free for my car are the silver clips on the centre cap of my wheels



did that coz i was on TSW website n saw them for summat like £1.99 each, went to Larkspeed in Rotherham n asked how much it would be for 4 of these clips, i only wanted the red plastic ones i had b4 coz i bust 1... anyway, Larkspeed bloke turned round n said "they aint cheap mate.. bout £40-£50.. so i wrote to TSW about it n i got them sent for free

If your car's indoors at Max Live you'll stand a better chance of blagging stuff. If it's outside, then it's basically just a car park.

Remember loads of others will be trying the same

i want some cobra misano buckets, so when me exterior is done, ill send cobra an e-mail with pics of car, tell them my interior plans say ill put a cobra sticker in the rear quarter window or summit and see if theyl gee us a discount

Wheel mania sent me a free spiggot ring once when i called them to say one snapped in half when taking wheel off!!

I have been offered Covercar and will be on show Inside at Max Live BUT i havent been offered anything from free yet, its very hard Now, a few years ago it was so so easy, but now a days u are very very lucky if u do, few of my m8s got wheels etc and the only way to get wheels now is to be at the right place at the right time, as companys only give around 3 sets a years away (this is what most companys do) an you have to submit pics of your car and they pic the best they want to have thees wheels on.

The most i have been offered is alot of discount, and the mags will do most of the ringing about and tell you what the deals are (as i am getting ICE all going well)

got few bits sprayed for free like my back lights or if i was having few bits done would ask for some xtra work and it ythe price never really went up, always paid cash which helped.

got wheels a cheaper price cus was showing at max live

cobra always replaced my seat winders for free.

little things like the odd fuse etc

nothing big tho

I got both my Macrom amps and subs at less than cost as the Macrom importer wanted to use my car on stands at shows. As it is I only had to go to a couple which I would have gone to anyway.

I also got a free set of Macrom components (£250) because I lent my car to Burnley Car Audio when Total Car Audio wanted to do a "how to fit comp's" feature and a free set of Macrom 6x9's as they didn't like the Infinity ones being there but I wouldn't pay to swap them

hes contacted Brembo for some "free samples" of their uprated discs and pads for my Corsa 16v.
Retail price 400quid. to me, nitto.
